Robert Schrader, an Engineering Manager overseeing the service and application team, has been in the Swiss machining industry for over 25 years and has been with New England Tool Corporation for 14 years. Growing up in PA, Robert always thought he’d become a farmer, but his grandmother was a tool crib attendant and suggested he becomes a machinist instead. He signed up for the machinist program at Williamsport College of Technology in Williamsport, PA to have a backup plan. He loved it from day one, graduated on the Dean’s list, and the rest is history! Robert’s career was highlighted on the first page of the Wall Street Journal emphasizing his career path and the growing demand for Swiss machinists. He continues to stay passionate in the Swiss machining space and has facilitated over 500 hours of training other machinist on Swiss machines. Robert has installed hundreds of Swiss machines himself and has consulted on numerous customer service calls for customers across different industries (aerospace, medical, connector, industrial, automobile, firearms and defense).
