CMZ TTL Series

Category: CMZ

INFORMATION

The TTL Series represents the most advanced and powerful solution in CMZ’s multi-turret portfolio, engineered for high-volume production with uncompromising precision. Designed for manufacturers working with tight tolerances and demanding lead times, the TTL combines a beltless architecture, eight integrated motors, and oil-cooled motorized turrets to deliver exceptional performance, stability, and reliability.

With twin spindles, advanced axis configurations, and support for complex machining strategies, the TTL Series is purpose-built for producing complex parts efficiently — even in the most demanding industrial environments.

BENEFITS

  • Maximum productivity for high-volume production — multi-turret architecture and superimposed machining enable simultaneous cutting with up to three tools.

  • Advanced machining flexibility — X3 and Z3 axis movements allow off-center sub-spindle positioning, balanced cutting, and machining of longer parts.

  • Optional tailstock support — enables machining between main spindle and tailstock while operations continue on the sub-spindle.

  • Designed for complex parts — ideal for demanding applications requiring tight tolerances, multiple operations, and consistent repeatability.

BELTLESS TURNING CENTRE

8 INTEGRATED MOTORS

The TTL Series is part of CMZ’s range of turning centres for high volume production. With 8 integral built-in motors , this lathe is characterised by its high levels of precision and reliability. The design improves the quality of surface finishes, and achieves faster acceleration, resulting in quicker cycle times.

Machining very long components

The X3 travel of the sub-spindle body, away from centre line, reduces interferences

SYNCHRONOUS SPINDLES

REDUCE ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION TIME BY HALF

  • High power and torque synchronous motors (35.5 kW and 205 Nm) reduce acceleration and deceleration time by half.
  • Permanent magnets – there is no passing current and the spindle axis remains cold.
  • Oil-cooled synchronous motor and the bearings.
  • Roller bearings and they provide shock robustness and high vibration damping.

14 kW, 42 Nm, 12000 rpm

FULLY OIL-COOLED DRIVEN TOOL TURRET

24-position hydraulically clamped turrets. Clamping is achieved with large diameter curvic coupling crowns which provide great stability and accuracy. The turret has two motors. The first is used to index the disc on the turret (indexes 30º in 150 ms). The second is an integrated motor that delivers 14 kW 42 Nm and 12000 rpm to the driven tools. The entire turret is oil-cooled to enable continuous working at 12,000 rpm.

Tailstock: Operating simultaneously with sub-spindle (option)

One of the options of this fixed-headstock cnc lathe is the tailstock attached to the sub-spindle. The TTS allows the tailstock to be incorporated above or below the spindle. With this machine configuration, it is possible to machine between the chuck or the main chuck and the tailstock while finishing the part in the sub-spindle.

The TTS can work with 3 tools simultanously

This twin spindle lathe designed for bar turning has two turrets, although the CNC has 3 channels allowing 3 programs to be run simultaneously with their corresponding offsets. The sub-spindle (axes X3 and Z3) can work in the third channel of the CNC in a compound mode with the upper and lower turret. In this way, it is possible to place two tools in both turrets and machine with three tools simultaneously
