New Star SL Series machines SL-7 and SL-10 coming soon!

Star Micronics Co., Ltd. has developed the SL-7 and SL-10, two new SL Series Swiss-type automatic lathes coming soon to NETC. New SL models have been developed to suit small diameter machining requirements and offer accurate, efficient machining capabilities within a compact footprint.

As complexity and diversity increase every day for small diameter machining, these two models will augment Star’s multi-processing capacity, which currently offers the SR-10J type C in its small diameter processing lineup.

The SL-7 and SL-10 are capable of processing material of up to 7mm and 10mm diameter respectively. Both models offer 6 turning tools on the main side and up to 5 cross-working tool positions, of which 4 tool positions are available for cartridge attachments such as thread whirling, slotting, gear hobbling, angled drilling, and polygon units.

The 6-spindle unit with Y2-axis control for backworking has two spindles in three rows and can mount up to four power-driven tool units in their respective positions. This enhanced multi-processing capability in backworking will contribute to reducing cycle times through the efficient splitting of processes.

Benefits

  • High speed processing with 35m/min rapid rates
  • Main spindle speed 15,000 rpm, sub-spindle speed 12,000 rpm
